Kathleen Hilliard has been awarded a 2017-2018 fellowship from the Program in Early American Economy and Society at the Library Company of Philadelphia. It funds one month of research at the Library Company and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania in support of her book, Bonds Burst Asunder: The Revolutionary Politics of Getting By in Civil War and Emancipation, 1860-1867
